Time for our most exciting game of the year, the Border War! We will be playing Kansas on February 15th at 7:00 pm. The game will be played at Silverstein Eye Center Arena in Independence, MO. We hope to see you all there! Also, we are happy to announce that we are offering a bus to the game that will be leaving from Shiloh bar and grill. For the bus, we will be selling wrist bands for $30 a piece or $25 a piece for groups of 5 and over. The wrist band will get you into Shiloh’s, a ride to and from the game (pick up and drop off at Shiloh), and get you a ticket to the game. If you would like to provide transportation on your own, you may pre-order a ticket from us for $10 a seat, or you can purchase a ticket at the door for $15 a seat. If you would like to purchase a wristband, or pre-order a ticket, please contact our treasurer, Billy Hindle. You may text or call him at (314)-368-7902, or send him an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are looking forward to your support!
The Mizzou Ice Hockey Club is proud to announce the coaching staff for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Mizzou Hockey alum Cory Cannon is set to take over as Head Coach. He will be assisted by fellow alum, Ryan Hodges.
Cannon was a stand-out forward for Missouri, playing four seasons with the team. Last season, Cannon recorded 7 goals and 7 assists in 10 games played for the Tigers. Cannon looks forward to contributing from behind the bench “As some one who was able to play for this team as well, it is a great honor to be named Head Coach. I look forward to getting to work this season and building on some of the successes the team had last year”. Missouri compiled wins against MACHA opponents Illinois State, SIUE, and Iowa, but finished the season 7-15-2.
Cannon, accepting his first head coaching position, knows there will be challenges. However, he is happy to have a former line-mate joining the staff to be by his side “I am very excited to work with Ryan. He is a guy who had a lot of success in his own career and can bring some of that to the table with him when he is coaching as well. He has his own strengths that he brings and I look forward to seeing what he can do with the boys”. Hodges played two seasons for the Tigers, recording 8 goals and 9 assists in 19 games played last season before suffering a season ending injury against Missouri State.
Coach Cannon is excited to begin his inaugural season as the Missouri Tigers head coach. He is aware of the potential his team has for the upcoming season “We have a lot of good teams and coaches in the MACHA, there’s no denying we have a deep league top to bottom. I think this team can build on what the guys did towards the end of the year last season and bring this team back to the post season”.
